Hierarchical heterogeneous one-dimensional problem in linear viscoelastic media

چکیده

We address the homogenisation of a linear viscoelastic and hierarchical composite material in one-dimensional (1D) framework via three-scale asymptotic method. consider family heterogeneous problems with periodic, rapidly-oscillating piece-wise coefficients that model structure two levels organisation. Here, we assume continuity contact conditions at interfaces among constituents set straightforward geometrical configuration order to gain better insight multiscale problem. The main goal is provide general overview procedure validate approach by means comparison between solution original problem, homogenised problem formal solution. In addition, show presents clear improvement over recursive two-scale one, illustrate convergence solutions towards when parameters approach.

An ACO algorithm for one-dimensional cutting stock problem

The one-dimensional cutting stock problem, has so many applications in lots of industrial processes and during the past few years has attracted so many researchers’ attention all over the world. In this paper a meta-heuristic method based on ACO is presented to solve this problem. In this algorithm, based on designed probabilistic laws, artificial ants do select various cuts and then select the...

One-Dimensional Wave Dispersion in Layered Media

Abstract. Homogenisation theory reveals that long one-dimensional waves propagating in a medium with spatially periodic wave speed can behave like dispersive waves in an appropriately homogenised medium. However the precise time and length scales over which this dispersive behaviour is a good approximation are not clear. This paper describes what happens in a specific case when the sound speed ...

Stochastic analysis of biodegradation fronts in one-dimensional heterogeneous porous media

We consider a one-dimensional model biodegradation system consisting of two reaction–advection equations for nutrient and pollutant concentrations and a rate equation for biomass. The hydrodynamic dispersion is ignored. Under an explicit condition on the decay and growth rates of biomass, the system can be approximated by two component models by setting biomass kinetics to equilibrium. We deriv...

Constitutive model and wave equations for linear, viscoelastic, anisotropic media

Rocks are far from being isotropic and elastic. Such simplifications in modeling the seismic response of real geological structures may lead to misinterpretations, or even worse, to overlooking useful information. It is useless to develop highly accurate modeling algorithms or to naively use amplitude information in inversion processes if the stress-strain relations are based on simplified rheo...

Topological Relationship Between One-Dimensional Box Model and Randić Indices in Linear Simple Conjugated Polyenes

The alternative double bonds and conjugation in the polyene compounds are one of the main properties in these compounds. Each carbon-carbon bonds in a polyene compound along the chain has appreciable double-bond character. The p-electrons are therefore not localized but are relatively free to move throughout the entire carbon skeleton as an one-dimensional box. The skeleton be considered as a r...
